As Black Lives Matter protests have raged across the U.S. in 2020, there's been a lot of debate in the photo community about the question and ethics of blurring faces to keep protesters safe from police recognition efforts and retribution.

Rather than blurring faces, which I feel mutes the power and emotion of the protests, I have done a series of obfuscation experiments designed to protect protestor identities while still having visual impact.

In some I have mixed up the faces, in others I have replaced the faces of protesters with the faces of police so the cops can only profile themselves.
